Who benefits from Lions training?

Individual Lions, Lions clubs, the association, and even the community, all benefit from training.

Individual Lions benefit from training
1 Through training, individual Lions can grow personally and professionally, expand their knowledge and skill base, and develop leadership and organizational skills.
2 Training provides an avenue for individual Lions to network with other Lions and learn from each other. Lions are innovative, resourceful and determined people who have knowledge to share, when given the opportunity.
3 Lions build better communities, but training builds better Lions.

Lions Clubs benefit from training
1 Lions Clubs reap the benefits of training as well. Lions who have access to training learn valuable skills that heighten motivation and strengthen their commitment to service.
2 Training unites Lions clubs and results in stronger fellowship.
3 Training brings to the forefront alternative ways for clubs to tackle age-old problems.
4 Training gets Lions clubs thinking about how they can reach farther and serve better. And as clubs grow and change due to effective training, so do communities.
5 Lions club that is trained and able to help the community knows no bounds.

LCI benefits from training
1 Training prepares the association (Lions Clubs International) to anticipate and meet the needs of the future.
2 Training results in Lions Clubs being able to do more for communities.
3 Training cultivates leaders, and leaders cultivate other leaders. With more leaders, Lions can touch more lives.

Effective training is critical for Lions Clubs International

The needs of our communities, and the global community, are constantly changing. It is our challenge as leaders to ensure that the Lions of the world have the knowledge, skills and resources to respond to these needs.
To truly make a difference in the world, Lions must not only respond to needs, but also anticipate them. Organizations that have the greatest impact on society are those that are forward thinking.

Why is effective training so critical for Lions Clubs International?

1. Forward thinking organizations regularly seek out opportunities for improvement. And forward thinking organizations consistently invest in the training and development of their members.

2. Training is vital to the growth, health and future of Lions Clubs International. Yes, "We Serve", but the quality of our service depends upon the quality of our training.

3. Training equips Lions with the skills, knowledge and motivation to ensure that the highest possible level of service is provided. Training means developing more Lions leaders, and more leaders translates into greater service. In short, training makes Lions more effective.

4. Training can also influence membership. The wavering Lion that doesn’t feel as if he or she can truly make a difference can be stimulated by new ideas discovered through training and interacting with other Lions. Through the sharing of ideas, success stories, and humanitarian endeavors, training unites Lions and solidifies their commitment to serving humankind.

5. Training is an attractive benefit to new and potential members. Today’s volunteers view opportunities for personal and professional growth as a primary motive for volunteering. They want to serve their communities, but while doing so, learn new skills. Any organization that provides training enhances the volunteer experience by meeting the needs of the community and the member simultaneously.

6. Training is just one more way Lions Clubs can enrich the lives of our members. To continue to prosper, Lions must have access to knowledge and opportunities to enhance their skills and abilities.
